Thanks for all the well wishes. Yesterday was my Dads birthday. We also celebrated Christmas since he got out of the hospital on Thursday. I would tell all about his horrible experience but honestly I'm exhausted by it. I'll sum it up... After not eating for four days and after being told many different things he needed done that didn't get done he got released.
He definitely needs the surgery. He needs an MRI first. The MRI should be done in the beginning of the week and hopefully then the surgery will be soon after.
The hospital he went to was horrible. It was even worse because of the holidays. If he has another attack he definitely won't be going to that hospital again. He has been doing ok since he got home. He's been eating things that are easy on the stomache and so far there hasn't been another attack. Hopefully it stays that way.
Well it definitely isn't the best Christmas Ever. My Dad went into emergency yesterday and was admitted in the hospital. Turns out he has Pancreatitis. He has to get his gall bladder removed. We're not sure when he'll have the surgery. Probably tomorrow. I feel terrible for him to be in the hospital for Christmas. We obviously postponed our opening of gifts for when he is out.
I was supposed to head over to Mr.ITs Moms for Christmas day (my family celebrates on Christmas Eve) but I'm skipping out on that. I don't want to be a downer. They understand though and we'll probably do a Christmas dinner another day. I'll stop in when I pick Mr.IT up though.
I'll still have Christmas dinner but it will be at my brothers and then I'll head to the hospital.
Mr.IT has been great. He was with me and took good care of me the whole time. He didn't really want to leave me to go to his Moms but I told him he had to. I also agreed to go to my brothers to make him feel better. So he knew I wasn't alone. We exchanged gifts this morning and both love what we got. So Christmas hasn't been ALL bad.
I hope everyone else is having a very MERRYCHRISTMAS
I've gotten more used to the hair color but am still not sure I like it. I don't hate it. I love the colors I'm just not sure I love them on me. A lot of the people that have seen it really really like it. Mr.IT likes that it looks like fire. I straightened it today and when he saw me this morning at work he was like WOW you look amazing. Then again, he compliments me even when I look sick and gross.
The Christmas party was a blast. I did miss Mr.IT but had a great time anyway. I danced most of the night. Threatened to dance on a table a few times... there just wasn't any tables cleared so no room. I have pictures but they are all pretty bad so I'm not posting them. Not only are they bad but they also have co-workers in them and I'm not sure how they'd feel with me posting pics of them so I won't.
Last Christmas I had a package sent to me. It was an anonymous box of very yummy chocolates. I scoured the packaging to find who sent them but there was nothing. Last night I got another package. The yummy chocolates again. This time however I know who they are from. So thank you, thank you, thank you Callie and Lowk!!! I'm saving them for Christmas Eve for my family to have some too. I'm sure they'll thank you too.
I went to the hairdresser. It took 4 and a half hours. I'm no longer a red head. I'm also not blonde. I'm kind of freaking about the color. I went copper... and I'm not sure I like it.
Well tomorrow night is the Christmas party. I have a new dress, shoes, purse and accessories. I also decided to get my hair dyed back to blonde. I'm pretty excited... it's all everyone could talk about all week. I'm still disappointed that Mr.IT won't be going. He did however try and get someone to buy his snowboarding trip from him. Unfortunately there weren't any takers. His plan was to surprise me and show up either to pick me up and take me there or show up there. I would have loved that.
I thought I'd post the menu and some of the entertainment... Salads Oven roasted potato salad with stone ground mustard Mediterranean pasta salad with sun-dried tomatoes Tortellini salad with garlic aioli Mesclun greens with assorted house vinaegrettes Vine-ripened tomato with fresh basil, extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette Mixed garden greens with champagne vinaigrette
Entrees Roasted baron of Alberta Beef, sauce marchand de vin Oven roasted pacific salmon with soy and ginger glaze Roasted garlic chicken
Accompanied with rice pilaf and scalloped potato; an assortment of freshly baked breads and rolls with plain and flavoured butters
Dessert Selection of cheesecake, Tortes, Pies and Tartlets
I'm drooling just thinking about all that yummy food!!! From what I hear when everyone arrives they have that genious young boy playing piano. He's the one that has been on Leno and Oprah a few times. Plus they have a comedian. Then there is dancing and karaoke. Before heading to the party I'll be meeting up with some people at the hotel they are staying at for pre-party socialization.
I still seem to be having bloggers block. It's probably because nothing much is going on. Work is still good. I was sick with the flu and missed a lot of work last week but I'm still enjoying my job. Mr. IT and I are still going strong. He's away this weekend and I miss him.
Last night I went to my brother and sister-in-laws to play a game. Growing up we regularly had game night. It was every week either friday or saturday. I've always loved playing games. Didn't matter much which game and we'd play a bunch of different ones. So earlier in the week when my sister-in-law asked if Mr. IT and I wanted to come over for a game night I was happy to say yes. Mr IT obviously couldn't go. My Dad came though. It's been a very long time since we've done that.
Friday night I went to a comedy club with a couple friends. The first comedian (the host) was pretty funny but the second one sucked. The headliner though was hilarious. I've never really had the urge to buy a comedians DVD afterwards but I bought his.
Yesterday after work I went out with a bunch of co-workers. I had a blast with everyone. I realize even more what a fun bunch of co-workers I have. I was a little nervous about the upcoming Chrismas gala. Mr.IT will be snowboarding in the mountains that weekend so I am heading there by myself. I really wasn't looking forward to going by myself. For the seating at the gala they don't put people in the same department together. They mix people from all the departments so that people will get to know the other people we work with. I'm still a little nervous about that but I'm hearing they will seat me with someone from my department because I'm by myself. That's only for the dinner part though. After that we all mingle. At that point I have no fear that I'll have a blast.
I'm sad that Mr.IT won't be coming with me though. Would have been nice to get all dressed up with him and dance. Poor guy keeps getting teased about not being there. People keep telling him I'm going to be looking all hot and imagine all the guys hitting on me.
I worked late on Thursday and will be heading into work again today. It's fiscal yearend so it's really busy for accounting. The good thing is I will get a day off because of it. Mr. IT is going snowboarding to the mountains next weekend too and he's coming back Sunday but booked off Monday to have the day to relax. I'm also going to book off Monday so we'll have the day together.
I decided to start this blog as a way to keep my friends informed of whats going on with me. It is more like a journal of my life that I'm happy to share. I am not that great of a writer and will probably ramble often. I also think things in my life can be pretty boring and since I am trying to update every day (or every second day) a lot of the posts will be pretty lame.
I have a son whom I adore, so a lot of my posts will be about him.
Thanks for stopping by.
