I can't believe how long it's been since I posted. Life has been pretty busy for me lately. A lot seems to be going on. My Dad had his surgery last Friday and came home Monday. He is in a lot more pain than he was with his other surgeries but he is doing well. Thankfully there is no hospital drama to report. It went as good as can be hoped.

The other thing is something I wasn't going to mention for a little longer but I've changed my mind. I think it's part of the reason I didn't post. It's a pretty big deal and I really couldn't think of anything else to talk about. I'm pregnant.

Everyone back on their chairs yet? I ask because the usual reaction seems to be the type of shock where people seem to fall off chairs. Or at least need to sit down if they are standing. For some reason people seem to recall I have been saying over and over I don't want kids. *shakes head*

At first I didn't think it was a good thing. I took a home test and well... reacted with shock, denial and terror. Mr. IT was really great though. He just held my hand and told me we'd deal with it together.

The next day I went to the doctor and found out for sure. As soon as he said that the test was positive I knew I was keeping it. As soon as I told Mr. IT my decision he said he was glad and that it would all work out. It didn't take too much time for me to realize that I was actually excited. We went very quickly from being sure it wasn't necessarily what we wanted to realizing we definitely do want this.

I'm now nearly ten weeks. I ended up telling my boss today. I wasn't planning on it. We were waiting until at least 12 weeks but I just (without thinking about it) blurted it out. Everyone at work has taken it so well. My boss is extremely excited and supportive. I can't explain how relieved I am. I haven't been there long and while they couldn't get rid of me for it I didn't know if they would think it's such a good thing and maybe my job would be effected. I really like working there and didn't want any kind of tension or weirdness.

My due date is September 24. Which btw is only 15 days before my 30th birthday. I really didn't think it would happen but... I'm going to be a Mom before I'm 30. Wow

Yeah, but I already knew.

See - she loves me best.

neener neener neener!!!

I'm so happy for you. I know from personal experience that you're going to be a fantastic mom. My kids absolutely love you.

Seriously, guys - you should see them around her. They clamour for her attention, and she's so sweet with them.

Oh, and for the record - I didn't fall off my seat. I've been telling her for years she needs to have a baby. Because I think Dani is going to be the most fantastic mom ever.

xoxo, sweetie.

The most beautiful thing to a man is a woman, but the most beautiful thing to a woman is her first baby (from the movie "Venus").

Congrats! A big responsibility but there is no greater pleasure and joy. I love kids. I have 5 of my own and I took in my nephew because I will take as many as I can get.

Now about you loving Callie the best. That is not fair at all to the rest of your loyal readers. You should love us all equally.

AHHHHHHH!!!!!

That's a good kind of screaming.

I was SO NOT PREPARED TO READ THAT!

Talk about heart attack of happiness for you! First I was like, "she's joking"... but then I kept reading. CONGRATS!

You'll be a fantastic mom, don't worry. You always inspired great confidence in me ever since I met you, and that was only online contact (we met when I was only 15 - so I was at an influencial age!).

A thousand congratulations!!! AND BIG HUGS!

Keep us updated on how you're doing, and I'm just dying to know if it'll be a boy or girl and what names you like (I loooooove thinking up baby names, so if you need help, I'm here! haha). I always like to throw "Stephanie" into the mix, it's a solid name. ;-) (kidding of course! haha)

Eeeee!!!!!!! My Jellybean is going to be a mom! WOW! :-D (LMAO... I'm like... wayyyy too excited, non?)

I've always liked kids... you know like the ones that go home when you're done playing with them lol. I didn't think I'd want one of my own though. It wasn't in my plans but now that it is going to happen I'm not sorry.

Thanks Stephie!! *HUGS* you definitely made me smile this morning. See now you'll have to actually come visit me... afterall you're going to be an 'aunt'.

Oh yeah and we're having trouble with boys names. We already have a few girls names but only one boy name that neither of us are sold on.

Stupid Blogger ate my comment.

grrrrr.

What I was saying was . . . since you can't agree on a boys name, that means you're going to have a girl. After all, that's what happened to Lowk and me. We could never agree on a boys name. Turns out, we didn't have to. ;->

However, I do like the names Nathanial and Vincent. Just sayin . . .

I had a boy's name picked out and had a girl, so don't listen to Calli, PICK BOTH...but remember not to name a boy SUE...it tends to get his ass kicked a lot...If I told you the REST of this story you'ld die laughing...

Boys names are definitely harder to pick out than girls names. That's what I've found with everyone. Even for our family when we found out my mom was pregnant with my youngest brother we had a girls name picked out and decided on, and next thing you know she finds out she's having a boy. LOL. Luckily we found a name we liked, but it wasn't as easy.

What types of names do you like? I'm going to name my first son Owen, and the other name I like is Zachary. I like fairly "normal" names though... not a fan of names like Brody or Tanner or any of those. Name it Xander! (OMG, If you named your baby after a Buffy character I think I would literally die... LOL).

Glad I could make you smile! And yes, one of these days we will most definitely have to meet. hahaha. "Auntie Stephanie" has such a nice ring to it. ;)

Congrats again, I'm so happy for you!
