It appears that the Audio blog number is still busy so here's my list typed out instead.

1. I've worked at this job for 5 years. The 5 year anniversary was August 15.

2. I've only been unemployed for a few months since I was 15. It was just before starting here.

3. I was Laid off twice and quit once with the same company. They laid off my entire department. I got hired back with a different position but it was 12 hour days. I hated dealing with customers for 12 hours so I quit. I got re-hired in a similar position but with normal hours. After a year I was laid off again.

4. My dream growing up was to be an actress. I don't however have the guts to actually try make it so I dropped that dream.

5. For the last couple years I've been thinking about becoming a radio DJ.... problem is there isn't any money in that.

6. I also wanted/want to be a psychologist. I'm just not really prepared to go to school to become that.

7. I HATE grocery shopping. I'm not someone you want to go grocery shopping with either... I whine... and bitch... I'm always asking aren't we done yet. Can we please leave. The only times I am ok with it are when there to only pick up a few things.

8. I am not really a fan of cats. Never have been. I love dogs though. I miss having a dog.

9. I used to suck my finger. Not my thumb.. my finger. I did that waaay too long. I think I stopped by grade 2... but it could have been during grade 2 that I stopped.

10. I think (at the moment.. it changes often) my dream job (other than acting) would be like a Dear Ann radio DJ.

There you have it. Ten more things about me. Hopefully I didn't repeat any. I'll still try and audio blog a little later. I'm crossing my fingers in hopes that its working by then.

I've always told you you'd make a good psychologist or advice columnist. God knows you've helped me through most of my crap these past 5 or 6 years.

Jeez - has it been that long already??? lol

And, you've got the greatest voice for DJ-ing. Only, with your voice, I think you'd do better at a smooth jazz or R&B station, cuz your voice is so sexy.

;-)

Yeah.. you do know that you are the person that put that job in my head. The more I thought about it the more I really like the idea lol. I'm happy to have been any help to you and to have been there just to 'listen'.

I can't believe its been that long... crazy! I 'met' you only a few months after getting this job. So its been nearly 5 years. :)

Thank you!!! I would prefer to DJ for Rock. Or Jazz. Not a huge fan of the R&B but I'd not say no to that.

Yay psychology! It's one of my loves.

But to be a psychologist? Hello lots o' schoolin'!

But, I also think you shouldn't limit yourself and should go for whatever dream job you want, no matter what. :)

Radio DJ would be so fun!

Justin, it is a lot of work, but it's very interesting. One word of advice: don't be too worried if at first your marks aren't that great. Psychology is one of those things where every time you take it you'll see improvements - it all overlaps and each time you learn the concept again you get better and better with it. I'm just saying, don't be discouraged if at first you aren't performing how you expected to.

That might not apply to you at all, or it might. Just thought I'd let you know.

As an actual radio DJ, I can attest to the fact that it is, indeed, a great time.

Can't speak for Canada, but in the States, there IS a bit of money to be made in radio if you excel at it.

:)

Yeah - I take full credit for your wanting to be a psychologist. Cuz, you know, I'm so F****D up.

Seriously, though, if you went into DJing, you'd have all the boys at your feet during your broadcasts!

You aren't fucked up. You put the idea in my head by saying 'you should be an advice columnist'. Not because I've helped you. :P

Pizzle from what I hear there isn't money to be made in radio here.

If I became a psychologist I think I'd be a child psychologist. I don't think I could handle some of the problems adults have lol

Good luck with that Justin!

My advice is, if you really like psychology the school may not be as bad as you think. You will be learning about something you like. I hate school too, but would love to go back to get an anthro degree(another discipline where it is hard to make much money).

The radio thing is what you make of it. I have a friend who is in radio and DJed for a time, he is now a music director on a station that, to be honest, none of us would have ever seen him working at. But, he is happy and the money is what it is. If you like it, less money is something to think about. There is nothing like loving what you do.

I felt the same way about cats. When I got married my wife had a cat(sweetest cat ever, cat haters loved this cat) and we ended up getting another one. The second one ended up being mine, cuz, she hated the ex. She is crazy, but, loves me, which makes me never want to get rid of her no matter how weird she is.

<---former thumb sucker. :P

Good luck with whatever you pursue. Just remember, that while having money is nice, if you love what you are doing, money is definitely not everything. Plus, you could always get yourself a sugar daddy. ;)

Hmm any takers on the sugar daddy thing? lol lol

I have a feeling I'd not like learning psychology either lol. I am very much not a learning type person.. I just want to do. If that makes sense. Plus I don't have the patience to go through so many years of school.

I haven't ruled out the DJ thing. I'm still definitely thinking about it.

The whole doer thing makes perfect sense. That is how I am. I am dreading going back to school, but at some point in the very near future(possibly January) I think I will go back just to get a useful skill of some sort.

What ever you do just try to enjoy it.

My advice is to skip school, and just move someplace where they do not know you, and hang up a sign "Danikabur: Child Psychologist". No one ever checks those degree things anyway.

You have time to do all you want to do. School goes by quickly, you meet alot of new people, and every year you complete is a year less that you have to do.

I keep telling her I met a ton of guys when I was in college. Shoot, that's even how I met Lowk.

I know you don't care too much for school, mainly do to childhood trauma. However, you're an adult now. College is TOTALLY different from what grade and high school was. Especially night classes. It's full of grown ups, too. And typically, the professor is an actual PROFESSIONAL IN THE AREA HE/SHE TEACHES. That's the important thing.

But, you know I've always been a huge advocate of you going back for a degree. You're SO smart, and you'd be perfect for a psych degree. Besides, how else are you going to get over your whole hang up about it if you don't face it head on???

As far as patience goes - you know I'm probably the LEAST patient person we know, right? I hate waiting for anything. But I never saw school like that. It was just part of my life - something I did after work. Sort of like a social hour - lol. I made friends in each class, and we'd hang out for a bit. The classes only lasted about an hour and a half, two nights a week. So, if I was taking two classes, I'd usually be there about 3 or 3.5 hours a night, two nights a week. I'd eat dinner there with my classmates sometimes, and even went out for drinks occasionally. It was actually fun.

And I don't want to hear how you're too tired after work to do it. If you have enough energy to go out, you have enough energy for this. Shoot, all you have to do is show up and sit in a desk for a certain amount of time, and write a few things down. No biggie.

And just think - you always have US for moral support, right???

Okay - I'll get off my soapbox now.

(((HUGS)))

I figured you'd be able to agree (or disagree) on that one Duff. I'm still thinking of going into it. If I can live fine off that money then I'll be happy. I don't need to be rich to be happy... although it would help lol lol
