We took the little monkey to the doctor for his one week check up. He's got a clean bill of health. On Wednesday we took him to get weighed and measured. Most of the time babies lose weight after they are born but in a week they should be back to their birth weight. Well our little one surpassed his birth weight by 6 ounces. Here I was all worried that he wasn't eating enough or that my milk might not be enough. Guess I don't need to concern myself with that. He also grew half an inch.
It's been a busy weekend with going to my brothers for thanksgiving supper yesterday. He did really well though. Slept through all the noise. You better believe it was noisy too. There were 8 kids all 5 and under. Plus the adults (13) make as much if not more noise than the kids. I'm happy we have a baby that will easily sleep through all that. I had a good time and absolutely love my brothers place. They live on an acreage outside the city and the house is mostly wood inside. When I first saw it I thought all that wood would drive me crazy because it seemed so closed in but now with all their furniture (and new hardwood floors and carpet upstairs) I think it's beautiful. Plus you can't beat how peaceful it is being in the middle of nowhere.
Tonight we'll be heading to Mr.ITs parents house for thanksgiving. It's a much quieter atmosphere but no less fun. I'm hoping to get home a little earlier tonight though so we can wind down a little sooner. Hopefully get the monkey to sleep at an earlier time.
In a couple days I'll be thirty. I can't believe it. I don't feel like I should be turning thirty. I also can't believe I actually have a baby before thirty. It has been a great present but of course it also means no big party for the thirtieth birthday. No big deal though I don't mind keeping it low key. Dinner with Mr. IT and just relaxing for the evening. He goes back to work on Wednesday too so it'll be the last day with all of us home. I'm definitely going to miss him being home all day.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Glad to hear the little guy is doing so well. :-) I love the picture you put up on Flickr with him in his Oilers sleeper (was it a sleeper? Whatever the little outfit was that said Oilers on the back). Too freakin' cute!
I went to a CFL game yesterday, my little brother's football team was scrimmaging on the field before the Toronto Argonauts. They played against the Edmonton Eskimos, and I thought of you. LOL. Anything Edmonton screams "Danika" to me! haha.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!
Glad the little bugger's doing well.
I miss you guys!
Okay, had the longest and most realistic dream last night.
I was in Edmonton, staying at your house. You were still pregnant. Callie and her daughter were there. Callie, you, Mr IT and I went to this walk-in clinic sort of place, and that was where you were going to have the baby. You went into labour, so Callie and I hit up the West Ed mall so I could find a baby gift for you. We wandered ALL over the mall, passed by tons of baby clothing stores, and I kept procrastinating from picking out a gift because I couldn't make a decision.
Then, in one section of the mall Ty from Extreme Makeover Home Edition kept yelling "Move that Bus!" and Callie and I were slightly distracted by the spectacle. Then this guy, who was apparently your brother (he was named M----- just like your brother, but he did NOT look like him hahaha), he found us in the mall to tell us we should come see the baby.
Then, Callie and I helped you take the baby home. Home was apparently "your mother's" house (which I know, is not Edmonton, you live with your dad... but this was with your mom. She was like.. Southern... it was odd, haha). And then I was playing with the baby, and Callie's daughter was playing with the baby.
And... all was well. LOL. Callie's daughter's name was "Racquel" in the dream. LMAO. She said "My name is Rachel", and Callie said, "Well, it's Racquel, but Rachel was easier for her little friends to pronounce".
It was SOOO weird, but it did feel really realistic while I was dreaming it. And it went on and on. LOL.
Just thought I'd share that with ya!
Oh, P.S. In the above I said "you live with your dad", I meant "You lived with your dad, not your mom". I know you don't live with your dad currently. lol.
"the monkey"...too funny!
happy thanksgiving!!!
xoxo,
trix.
Very funny dream, Stephie!
And Racquel is nowhere near what Munchkin is named, but I do love that name. Very pretty.
On my next trip to Edmonton, I do plan on going to the mall. Woot!
LOL too funny Stephie!! The mall does take hours to wander.
We'll definitely have to take you next time you come out here Callie!
Thanks Trix!
I call him my little monkey. I have to be careful though or that's what he's going to think his name is. LOL
