Looks like we got it all worked out. There was a lot of misunderstanding. I'm glad we got the chance to talk it out. I think we're going to try see Narnia tonight. Hopefully I don't end up cleaning too late.

What I really should do is go out and buy Christmas gifts since I haven't even started yet. The only gift I bought is for myself.... a new pair of glasses. I'm just not in the Christmas spirit. I hate that I HAVE to buy gifts. I'd rather go out and give someone a gift for no reason than go out and give someone something because I have to. I love my family and I have no problem spending money on them. I just don't like the obligation of it. The pressure of finding a gift they will like... of how much to spend.

Edit: I am completely spoiled. My Daddy is doing some of MY Christmas shopping for me.

Totally agree. My family's never been that big on the "obligation". We're close, and see each other regularly anyway.

It'd be easier if one could spread the cost over a whole year, instead of one paycheck. :)

My sister-in-law is smart about it. She buys gifts throughout the year. She was done her shopping (except for a couple last minute ones) by October.

I always tell myself to be smart and start buying gifts in at least November. Each cheque one gift. But NOOOO I'm not smart enough to take my own advice. LOL

Dani - glad to hear things worked out with your guy. :)

I've only bought gifts for my parents so far this year. The rest can wait for New Year's parties to get their gifts. I usually love this time of year, but it definitely feels like more of a chore this year than anything else. Dangit!

Have a good one, girl, and I'll be back around the New Year! :)

Thanks Gypsy!

I will only be buying for my family before Christmas. My friends have to wait until January. lol Of course that's no different than any other year.

I have a feeling I'll be shopping on Christmas Eve day and scrambling to wrap it all since my family opens our gifts on Christmas Eve. Especially since I work both jobs tomorrow and Thursday.

Yay, you worked it out!

Christmas is not exactly my favorite time of year. I swear, one of these years I'm going to give hugs for Christmas and call it a day.

Giving out hugs is a great idea. It's better than giving someone something they don't want or need.

I'm lucky. I never considered it an obligation. Christmas wasnt made for a gift giving progam and I won't think of it that way. Hope You find the holiday spirit. Merry Christmas

My favorite gift is a gift certificate. No muss - no fuss - and no one gets stuck with something they don't want or have to exchange.

Unless it's for my kids, of course, then hubby and I spend insane amounts of $$ on them, just to see their cute little faces when they open up their presents. :-P

Glad to hear you worked everything out with your new guy!

I'm also glad to hear things are worked out.

I love Christmas shopping depending on the person. I hate shopping for my mom because she never gives me ideas. But for my boyfriend my creative side comes out and I do great. I love it!

Thanks :)

I usually do a good job once I actually shop and get the presents I just hate going to do it. I'm always wondering what to get and then I worry they won't like it...

So far what I've gotten my nieces has been their favorites but for them it's so hard to buy because they have so much already.
